²⁴ “Show me a denarius.^[a] Whose image and inscription are on it?”

“Caesar’s,” they answered.

²⁵ He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

²⁶ They were not able to trap him in what he said in the presence of the people. They were amazed at his answer and became silent.
